Relationship between test anxiety and achievement motivation of senior students

Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between test anxiety and achievement motivation of senior students .Methods Selected by random sampling ,320 senior school students completed Test Anxiety Scale and the Achievement Motive Scale .Results (1)Girls'scored was higher than that of boys in test anxiety (P< 0 .01) .Boys'scored higher than that of girls in achievement motivation and Ms (P<0 .05) ,while no significant gender difference was found in Maf (P > 0 .05) .(2)Test anxiety was nega‐tively related to achievement motivation and Ms (r= 0 .160 ~ 0 .400 ,P< 0 .01) ,and was positively re‐lated to Maf (r = 0 .461 ,P < 0 .01) .(3)There was linear correlation between test anxiety and achieve‐ment motivation (R2 = 0 .160 ,t= -7 .427 ,P< 0 .01) .Test anxiety accounted for 16 .0% of the variance of achievement motivation (P< 0 .01) .Conclusions Test anxiety is negatively related with achievement motivation and is contributed to achievement motivation .
