Study on endothelium cell injury in myasthenia gravis patients

Abstract:Objective To explore endothelium cell injury in myasthenia gravis (MG) patients . Methods Endothelin-1 (ET -1) was determined by radioimmunoassay (RIA);the plasma levels of in‐terleukin-6 (IL -6) ,von Willebrand factor (vWF) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) were deter‐mined with enzyme -linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 40 MG patients (MG group) and 40 healthy subjects (control group) .Results The levels of serum ET -1 ,vWF ,IL -6 and TNF -αin the MG group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0 .01) .The differences in the four subgroups of MG were all statistically significant (P < 0 .05) .In addition ,correlation analysis re‐vealed a significant positive correlation between the plasma levels of ET -1 and IL -6 ,vWF and IL -6 , ET -1 and TNF -α,vWF and TNF -α,respectively (P < 0 .01) .Conclusions There is damage in blood vascular endothelial cells in MG patients .There is a positive relationship between the plasma levels of inflammatory factors and the severity of the endothelium cell damage .IL -6 ,TNF -α may play an important role in the injury of endothelium cells in MG patients .
