Relationship between uric acid and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between uric acid and benign paroxysmal posi‐tional vertigo .Methods Select all kinds of BPPV patients and age ,sex -matched healthy control group of 80 cases .Serum uric acid levels were measured in BPPV group and the control group on admission . We repeated measurements of serum uric acid levels in BPPV group after three weeks .Results There was significant difference on serum uric acid levels between BPPV group (375 .48 ± 79 .746)μmol/L and control group (331 .56 ± 62 .26)μmol/L on admission ,and between on admission and after three weeks (331 .56 ± 62 .26)μmol/L in BPPV group .The Logistic regression shows that uric acid levels were the risk factor of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo .Conclusions The higher level of Uric acid may be associated with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo .
