Abstract:Neuraminidase-1(Neu-1),a glycosidase that cleaves terminal sialic acid residues from glycoproteins, glycolipids and oligosaccharides, belongs to the sialidase family and plays a role in cell signaling, immune regulation and intercellular interactions.Recent studies have shown that Neu-1 plays an important role in the occurrence, development, metastasis and immune escape of various tumors. This article reviews the structure of Neu-1 and its regulatory effect on sialic acid,as well as the expression regulation, related molecular mechanisms and the research progress of its inhibitors as potential targeted therapy in esophageal cancer, providing new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer.
