Abstract:Esophageal cancer(EC)is one of the most intractable gastrointestinal malignancies worldwide, and there are no reliable biomarkers for diagnosing EC and limited therapeutic interventions,so the search for new biomarkers and therapeutic strategies is urgent.Exosomes are nanoscale extracellular vesi-cles,biologically functional intercellular communication tools that can carry a variety of molecules, such as proteins, lipids, and RNAs,thus affecting the behavior and function of tumor cells. It plays an important role in the development and invasion of esophageal cancer and is a potential candidate for the diagnosis and treat-ment of EC.This article summarize the important advances of exosomes in EC proliferation,metastasis,diag-nosis,drug resistance, and immunotherapy in recent years, and gains insights into the interrelationships be-tween exosomes and EC,with the aim of providing new ideas and methods for the precise treatment of EC pa-tients in the future.
