Abstract:Mirror visual feedback(MVF)therapy,a multimodal rehabilitation technique based on neuroplasticity the-ory,has seen its clinical application expand to multiple fields, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder,chron-ic pain(phantom limb pain,post-mastectomy shoulder-arm pain),and peripheral nerve injuries(peripheral facial paraly-sis,carpal tunnel syndrome),demonstrating significant cross-disease potential.By providing the correct visual-proprio-ceptive matching,MVF helps correct disease-induced interhemispheric inhibitory imbalance or sensorimotor integration ab-normalities,thereby promoting synaptic remodeling and cortical reorganization conducive to functional compensation.Ear-ly intervention during the acute or subacute stage of disease, combined with treatment of adequate intensity and duration(e.g.,multiple sessions per week over several weeks),is crucial for achieving optimal outcomes.Meanwhile, the syner-gistic effect of MVF with techniques such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and task-oriented training provides insights into overcoming the limitations of single therapeutic approaches.
