Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of Mawangdui Daoyin Exercise in the rehabilitation pro-gram for patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods Eighty-eight COPD patients were divided into the control group and experimental group using a random number table, with 44 participants in each group.Patients in both groups received conventional pharmacological treatment.Patients in the control group additionally underwent breathing training, while patients in the experimental group did Mawangdui Daoyin Exercise alongside the same breathing training. We measured pulmonary function parameters[forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),and FEV1/FVC],6-minute walking distance(6MWD),the Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),St George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ),and recorded safety events before and after 8 weeks of treatment. Results Compared with the baseline, both groups showed significant improvements in FVC,FEV1,FEV1/FVC,and 6MWD(all P<0.05),with significantly greater improvement observed in the experimental group(all P<0.05).SAS and SDS scores,as well as all SGRQ domain scores(symptoms, activity, and impacts),were significantly reduced in both groups(all P<0.05),with the experimental group demonstrating lower scores than the control group(all P<0.05).Only one adverse event occurred in the control group, which resolved after pharmacological manage-ment.Conclusion Mawangdui Daoyin Exercise can effectively improve lung function and exercise tolerance in patients with stable COPD,and it also helps alleviate anxiety and depression, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
