Abstract:Objective To explore the correlations between mobility, posture stability, and body composition in pa-tients with subjective cognitive decline(SCD),and to provide a basis for early identification of dementia. Methods Thirty SCD patients were included as the SCD group, and 30 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations were included as the control group during the same period.Mobility was assessed using the Timed Up and Go(TUG)test.Posture stability indicators were collected using static balance instrument, including anterior-posterior(SDAP)and medial-lateral(SDML)standard deviations of swing amplitude,as well as anterior-posterior(VAP)and medial-lateral(VML)mean velocities of the center of pressure(COP),path length(PL)and 95%confidence ellipse area(EA).Body composition in-dicators were assessed using a bioelectrical impedance analysis, including fat-free mass index(FFMI),skeletal muscle mass index(SMMI),body fat mass index(BFMI),body fat percentage(PBF)and visceral fat level(VFL).Spearman's rank correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationships between the TUG scores and indicators of body composition and postural stability. Results The SCD group demonstrated significantly higher values in TUG time,SDAP,VAP,EA,and PL than the control group(all P<0.05).However,no statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups in SDML,VML,FFMI,SMMI,BFMI,PBF,or VFL(all P>0.05).Spearman's rank correlation analysis re-vealed that TUG was positively correlated with postural stability parameters SDML,VAP,and EA(r=0.39,0.36,and 0.39;all P<0.05).In contrast,no significant correlations were observed between TUG and any body composition parame-ters(all P>0.05).No significant correlations were observed between any postural stability and body composition parame-ters(all P>0.05).Conclusion Patients with SCD exhibit declines in mobility and postural stability, while no signifi-cant changes are observed in body composition;postural stability is correlated with mobility, which may be one of the im-portant manifestations of early functional changes in SCD.
