Abstract:Objective To observe the changes in serum levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-10(IL-10),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in patients with preterm premature rupture of membranes(PPROM),and to analyze their predictive efficacy for PPROM complicated by chorioamnionitis(CA).Methods Eighty-three patients with PPROM were enrolled and divided into the infection group(24 cases)and non-infection group(59 cases)based on the presence or absence of CA.Peripheral venous blood was collected after admission, and serum levels of inflammatory markers IL-6,IL-10,and TNF-α were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The predictive efficacy of each in-flammatory marker for PPROM complicated with CA was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves. Results The serum IL-6 level in the infection group was significantly higher than that in the non-infection group(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in serum IL-10 or TNF-α levels between the two groups(both P>0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of serum IL-6 in predicting CA in PPROM patients was 0.945.At a cut-off value of 5.56 pg/mL,the sensitivity and specificity of serum IL-6 in predicting CA in PPROM patients were 89.95%and 94.23%,respectively.Conclusions Serum IL-6 levels are elevated in PPROM patients with CA than PPROM patients without CA.When the serum IL-6 level is≥5.56 pg/mL,PPROM patients may develop CA.
