Abstract:Objective To explore the predictive value of serum neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)and interleu-kin-6(IL-6)levels for the prognosis of patients with sepsis-induced coagulopathy(SIC).Methods Seventy-five pa-tients with SIC were selected. The peripheral venous blood of patients was drawn at admission to detect serum NETs and IL-6.The prognosis was observed on the 28th day of treatment. The clinical data of the patients[gender, age, infection site, coagulation indicators,sepsis-related organ failure(SOFA)score and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II(APACHE II)score]were collected.Binary Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of prognosis in SIC patients. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the predictive value of serum NETs and IL-6 levels for poor prognosis in SIC patients. Results Of the 75 patients,54 survived and 21 died.Compared with the survivors, deceased patients with SIC had significantly higher levels of serum NETs,IL-6,and D-dimer,as well as higher SOFA scores and APACHE Ⅱ scores(all P<0.05).The results of binary Logistic regression analysis showed that serum NETs level,IL-6 level, and APACHE Ⅱ score were influencing factors for poor prognosis in SIC patients(all P<0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of serum NETs level,IL-6 level, and APACHE Ⅱ score in predicting poor prog-nosis of SIC patients was 0.816,0.810,and 0.757,respectively.Conclusions Patients with SIC who have poor prog-nosis show elevated serum levels of NETs and IL-6.Serum levels of NETs and IL-6 exhibit high efficacy in predicting poor prognosis in SIC patients.
