Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of modified Sanpian decoction granules in the treatment of mi-graine and to explore its mechanism, thereby providing additional treatment options for migraine. Methods A total of 113 patients with migraine were selected and randomly divided into the treatment group(n=57)and control group(n=56).Pa-tients in the treatment group received oral administration of modified Sanpian decoction granules, while patients in the con-trol group received oral administration of a placebo granule formulation, with both groups undergoing continuous treatment for 4 weeks.During treatment,if patients experienced severe headaches that were intolerable, they could temporarily take ibuprofen sustained-release capsules. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared, along with headache severity scores, headache symptom scores, and serum levels of calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP),serotonin(5-HT),and in-terleukin-1β(IL-1β)before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate was higher in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in headache severity scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the headache severity scores and headache symptom scores in the treat-ment group were lower than those in the control group(both P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in serum CGRP,5-HT,or IL-1β levels between the two groups before treatment(all P>0.05);after treatment, serum CGRP,5-HT,and IL-1β levels in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and serum CGRP,5-HT,and IL-1β levels in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The modified Sanpian decoc-tion granules demonstrated good clinical efficacy in the treatment of migraine, and its mechanism of action may be related to multi-target effects such as improving blood flow, regulating neurotransmitters, and inhibiting inflammatory factors.
