Clinical observation of Huoxue Antong wine with Traditional Chinese Medicine directional osmotic therapy for shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of Huoxue Antong wine with Traditional Chinese Medicine di-rectional osmotic therapy for shoulder-hand syndrome Methods Sixty patients with SHS after stroke were selected,and randomly divided into the control group and treatment group,with 30 cases in each group.Patients in the control group re-ceived basic Western medicine treatment and conventional rehabilitation treatment,while patients in the treatment group received Huoxue Antong wine with Traditional Chinese Medicine directional osmotic therapy based on the treatment of the control group,30 minutes each time,twice a day.After 2 weeks of treatment,the clinical efficacy and the total effective rate were compared.Before and after treatment,the degree of pain in patients was evaluated by using the visual analogue scale(VAS)score,the upper limb motor function of patients was evaluated by using the Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA)upper limb motor function score and the patient's ability to perform activities of daily living was evaluated by using the Bar-thel index(BI)score,the levels of SP and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)of the two groups were observed by ELISA.During the treatment process,the adverse events were recorded.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in VAS scores,serum SP or PGE2 levels between the two groups before treatment(all P>0.05).After treatment,the VAS scores and the levels of se-rum SP and PGE2 in both groups decreased,and those in the treatment group were all lower than those in the control group(all P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the FMA or BI scores between the two groups before treatment(all P>0.05).After treatment,the FMA and BI scores of both groups increased,and those of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).No adverse events occurred in either group during the treatment period.Conclusions Huoxue Antong wine with Traditional Chinese medicine directional osmotic therapy can effectively alleviate the pain level of patients with SHS after stroke,improve upper limb motor function and daily self-care ability,and down-regulate serum biochemical indicators related to pain and inflammatory responses.It has good clinical ef-ficacy and safety.
