Abstract:Objective To summarize the characteristics of blood flow velocity recovery at the renal artery anastomot-ic site in patients with suspected transplant renal artery stenosis(TRAS)after kidney transplantation. Methods A total of 149 patients diagnosed with suspected TRAS by color Doppler ultrasound after kidney transplantation were re-examined with color Doppler ultrasound at 6 months postoperatively. The recovery of blood flow velocity at the renal artery anastomo-sis site was observed across different genders(male, female),age groups[young and middle-aged(15-45 years),middle-aged and elderly(46-75 years)],and treatment measures.A peak systolic blood flow velocity<150 cm/s at the anastomo-sis site was defined as normalized blood flow velocity. Results At 6 months postoperatively,128 out of 149 patients(85.9%)achieved normalized blood flow velocity at the renal artery anastomosis site. The normalization rate was signifi-cantly higher in female patients(92.6%)than in male patients(80.2%)(P<0.05).Among male patients, normalization rates were 76.0%in the young and middle-aged individuals versus 87.1%in the middle-aged and elderly individuals.Among female patients, the rates were 100.0%in the young and middle-aged individuals versus 88.0%in the middle-aged and elderly individuals, with the highest proportion observed in the young and middle-aged females(all P<0.05).Of the 17 patients who underwent interventional therapy,12(70.6%)achieved normalization.Among the 132 patients who did not receive interventional treatment intervention, the blood flow velocity at the renal artery anastomosis of 116 patients re-turned to normal, accounting for 87.9%,and there was no significant difference between these two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Patients with suspected TRAS after kidney transplantation showed favorable recovery of blood flow velocity at the renal artery anastomosis site.Female patients, particularly young and middle-aged females, exhibited higher normal-ization rates compared to males. The recovery of blood flow velocity was not associated with whether interventional therapy was performed.
