Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of intravaginal fractional CO2 laser combined with pelvic floor magneto-electric stimulation in the treatment of mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence(SUI)in women. Methods Ninety-four female patients with mild to moderate SUI were retrospectively selected for this study.Based on different treatment regimens, these patients were divided into two groups:the combined group(n=47)and control group(n=47).The control group received magneto-electric stimulation therapy, while the combined group received intravaginal fractional CO2 laser therapy in addition to the control group's treatment regimen. Both groups were treated for 3 months.Clinical outcomes were assessed by urine leakage measurement through the one-hour pad test before and after treatment.Pelvic floor function was evaluated using the modified Oxford muscle strength grading system and pelvic floor surface elec-tromyography,while quality of life was assessed with the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form(ICI-Q-SF)and Prolapse/Urinary Incontinence Sexual Function Questionnaire(PISQ-12)before and after treat-ment.Results After treatment, both groups showed a reduction in urine leakage measured by the one-hour pad test com-pared with the baseline, with the combined group showing a more significant decrease(all P<0.05).There was a statisti-cally significant difference in the clinical efficacy between the combined group and the control group(P<0.05).Compared with that before treatment, the pelvic floor muscle strength of both groups increased after treatment, with a more significant increase in the combined group(all P<0.05).Compared with those before treatment, both groups showed increases in the maximum value during the fast contraction phase, the average value during the sustained contraction phase, and the aver-age value during the endurance contraction phase after treatment, with the combined group showing more significant in-creases(all P<0.05).Both groups showed a decrease in ICI-Q-SF scores and an increase in PISQ-12 scores after treat-ment in comparison with those before treatment(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the combined group had lower ICI-Q-SF scores and higher PISQ-12 scores after treatment(both P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of intravaginal fractional CO2 laser combined with pelvic floor magneto-electric stimulation in treatment of mild to moderate SUI is relatively good. This approach can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms by enhancing the strength and function of the pelvic floor muscles, thereby improving patients'quality of life.
