Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effects of"Tong Guan Li Qiao"acupuncture combined with mirror therapy for dysphagia after stroke, aiming to provide new ideas for the treatment of dysphagia after stroke. Methods Six-ty-two patients with dysphagia with stroke were admitted.Participants were randomly divided into two groups:the treat-ment group(n=32)and the control group(n=30).The treatment group underwent mirror therapy in addition to"Tong Guan Li Qiao"acupuncture. The control group was treated with conventional swallowing function rehabilitation training methods such as oral, lip and tongue function training, swallowing function training, sensory stimulation, and electrical stimulation. The water swallow test(WST)and the videofluoroscopic swallowing study(VFSS)were implemented for evalu-ating patients' swallowing abilities before and after therapy. The change in the water swallow test level served as an indicator of efficacy. The standardized swallowing assessment(SSA)was used to assess patients' aspiration risk. Results Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in WST levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After treat-ment,both groups' WST levels decreased, and the treatment group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the VFSS score between the two groups(P>0.05);after treat-ment,the treatment group's VFSS score was higher than the control group's(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the treatment group had a higher clinical effective rate(P<0.05).The risk level of aspiration did not differ statistically sig-nificantly between the two groups befroe treatment(P>0.05);after treatment, the aspiration risk levels of both groups de-creased,and the level in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion"Tong Guan Li Qiao"acupuncture combined with mirror treatment has a favorable clinical effect on dysphagia after stroke, and it has certain advantages in improving patients' swallowing function and reducing the risk of aspiration.
