Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of compound yolk oil emulsion in the prevention and treatment of radia-tion-induced skin injury after breast cancer operationMethods Seventy cases of postoperative patients with breast cancer surgery or modified radical surgery were selected and randomized into the observation group with 40 cases and control group with 30 cases. The two groups both underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In observation group, after each radiothera-py,we smeared compound yolk oil with thickness of 1-2 mm on irradiation field and 1 cm beyond the irradiation field and then gently massaged 3-5 minutes, twice a day.Patients in the control group used moist exposed burn ointment according to the instructions. Results When the total irradiation dose of compound yolk oil emulsion was up to 30 Gy,40 Gy and after radiotherapy, the incidence of radiation-induced skin injury in the observation group was lower than that of the control group (all P <0.05).After radiotherapy,in the observation group, there were 8 cases of radiation-induced skin injury grade 0, 18 cases of grade Ⅰ,9 cases of grade Ⅱ,3 cases of grade Ⅲ,0 case of grade Ⅳ and 26 cases of below grade I totally (68.4%).In the control group, there were 2 cases of grade 0,11 cases of grade Ⅰ,9 cases of grade Ⅱ,4 cases of gradeⅢ,1 case of grade IV and 13 cases of below grade I totally (48.1%).After radiotherapy, grade I and below radiation skin injury constituent ratio in the observation group was higher than that of the control group,P <0.05.One week after ra-diotherapy,in the observation group,23 cases were significantly effective,13 cases were effective,2 cases were invalid and the total effective rate was 94.7%;in the control group were 10 cases,12 cases,5 cases and 81.5% respectively. The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that of the control group,P <0.05.Conclusion Com-pound yolk oil emulsion is effective in preventing and treating radiation-induced skin injury after breast cancer operation.
