Abstract:Objective To systematically evaluate the association between Helicobacter pylori ( Hp) infection and gas-tric polyps. Methods We searched PubMed, Embase, CBM, CNKI, Wan-fang data and VIP Data from inception to A-pril, 2015, to collect case-control studies concerning the association between Hp and gastric polyps .Two reviewers inde-pendently screened literatures according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria , extracted data and assessed the methodolog-ical quality of included studies; and then, meta-analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.3 software and STATA11.0 software. Results Twelve case-control studies were included , a total of 4 453 cases, 2 009 cases were in the gastric pol-yps group and 2 444 cases were in the control group .The results of meta-analysis showed that: there were no significant differences in the Hp infection rate between the gastric polyps group and the control group (OR=0.86, 95%CI:0.44-1.66, P=0.65);there were significant differences in the Hp positive rate between the fundic gland polyps and the control group (OR=0.32, 95%CI:0.15-0.68, P=0.004).Sensitivity analysis showed the results were stable .Conclusion The current evidence is insufficient to prove that there is an association between Hp infection and gastric polyps .
