Abstract:Objective To investigate the function of mRNA and protein expression of Dishevelled ( Dvl) gene in the occurrence and development of esophageal squamous carcinoma ( ESCC) .Methods We detected the expression levels of Dvl mRNA and protein in 60 cases of ESCC tissues and its corresponding adjacent tissues by RT-PCR and Western blotting , and then the relationships between the expression and clinical pathological features were analyzed .Results The expression of Dvl mRNA in the ESCC tissues and adjacent tissues was 1.008 ±0.220 and 0.891 ±0.196 (P<0.01), and the ex-pression of Dvl protein was 0.478 ±0.152 and 0.261 ±0.079, respectively (P<0.01).The Dvl mRNA expression was related with lymph node metastasis and TNM stages (all P<0.01), the expression of Dvl protein was associated with the depth of infiltration, lymph node metastasis and TNM stages (all P<0.01).Conclusion The Dvl expression promotes the occurrence and development of ESCC , its high expression indicates the late TNM stage and it is prone to the occurrence of lymph node metastasis .
