Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical epidemiological characteristics of 1344 cases of thyroid cancer , pro-viding an important reference for the early prevention and treatment of thyroid cancer in the Xinjiang region .Methods The clinical data of 1 344 patients with thyroid cancer from January 2003 to December 2013 were retrospectively analyzed , and we extracted the relevant epidemiological information for statistical analysis .Results During 1 344 patients, the over-all incidence increased year by year;the sex ratio was 1:2.7, and no difference was found in the incidence of ethnic pro-portions of men and women;but the ethnic differences existed in pathological type and peak age of onset (all P<0.05). The number of cases in northern Xinjiang was about twice of that in southern Xinjiang .Conclusions For nearly 10 years, the overall incidence trend of thyroid cancer is increased in Xinjiang region , the incidence of the male is lower than that of the female, and the pathological type and onset age have ethnic differences .Meanwhile, the incidence of northern Xinjiang is higher than that of the southern Xinjiang .
