Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of ring finger proteins 43 (RNF43) in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer tissues. Methods The expression of RNF43 was detected in 180 gastric cancer tissues and corresponding adjacent tissues by immunohistochemistry. The correlations of RNF43 expression with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of patients were analyzed. Results The high expression rate of RNF43 in the gastric cancer tissues was 46.1%(83/180), and 28.6%(51/180) in the adjacent tissues (P=0.020).The high expression rate of RNF43 in gastric cancer patients with distant metastases, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage (Ⅲ+Ⅳ) was higher (all P<0.01).The overall survival (OS) of RNF43 high protein expression and low expression were respectively 44.7 months (95% CI:39.5-49.9 months) and 61.1 months (95%CI:55.6-66.6 months), and significant difference was found (P=0.004). Conclusion The high expression of RNF43 in gastric cancer tissues may be one of the reasons of invasion, metastasis and poor prognosis in gastric cancer.
