Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction combined with needle warming moxi-bustion on peripheral neurotoxicity and immunologic function of patients with malignant cancer after chemotherapy.Meth-ods Ninety cases of patients with malignant cancer were collected and randomly divided into three groups:group A, group B and group C, 30 in each group.Group A was treated with needle warming moxibustion and Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoc-tion.Group B was given the decoction only.Group C received chemotherapy only.Twenty-one days was a course of treat-ment and they were treated for 2 courses in all and we observed the peripheral neurotoxicity classification, TCM syndromes, KPS score, immune cells and factor expression changes. Results The total effective rates of TCM syndromes in the three groups were 90.00%, 53.33%and 6.67%.There was significant difference in TCM syndromes between the three groups (all P<0.001).Compared with group C, the KPS scores of the groups A and B were higher (all P<0.05), and there was statistical difference between the groups A and B (P<0.05).Significant differences were found in the neurotoxicity classification, NK cells and IL-10 factors between the groups A, B and group C (P<0.05), while no statistical signifi-cances were found in T cell subgroups and IL-2 factors (all P>0.05).Conclusion Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction combined with Needle warming moxibustion can relieve peripheral neurotoxicity caused by cancer chemotherapy and improve TCM syndrome, the immunologic function and the quality of life.
