Expression changes of Bag-1 and Bcl-2 in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and the significance

Abstract：Objective To observe the expression changes of Bag-1 and Bcl-2 in papillary thyroid carcinoma ( PTC) tissues and to investigate the significance.Methods The Bag-1 and Bcl-2 expression was analyzed by immunohistochem-istry in 120 cases of PTC tissues and paired adjacent normal thyroid tissues.The relationships between the expression of the two proteins and the clinicopathological parameters of PTC were analyzed.Results The Bag-1 positive expression rates in PTC tissues and paired adjacent normal thyroid tissues were 72.5% and 9.2%, and the Bcl-2 positive expression rates were 81.7%and 11.7%, respectively (all P<0.05).Furthermore, both Bag-1 and Bcl-2 protein positive expression was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis and tumor size in PTC (all P<0.05).Bag-1 positive expression was positively correlated with the Bcl-2 positive expression (r=0.797, P<0.01).Conclusion In PTC tissues, the Bag-1 and Bcl-2 expression is high, and their expression is closely related, which plays an important role in the development of PTC.
