Expression changes and cIinicaI significance of Fascin and Ezrin in ovarian epitheIiaI tumor

Abstract：Objective To observe the positive expression of Fascin and Ezrin in ovarian epithelial tumor and to inves-tigate clinical significance.Methods Totally 135 cases of ovarian epithelial tumor tissue samples were selected, including 75 cases of ovarian epithelial carcinoma tissues, and 30 cases of borderline ovarian epithelial tumor tissues, 30 cases of o-varian benign epithelial tumor tissues.The positive expression levels of Fascin and Ezrin in all cases were detected by using immunohistochemical SP method;and the relationships between the expression of Fascin and Ezrin and patients′clinical pathological features in ovarian epithelial carcinoma tissues as well as their correlation between each other were analyzed. Results The positive frequencies of Fascin and Ezrin expression in the malignant ovarian tumor tissues were significantly higher than those in the ovarian benign and borderline tumor tissues, with a significant difference between two groups ( all P<0.01).Fascin and Ezrin positive expression in the ovarian epithelial tumor was significantly correlated with FIGO clini-cal stage, lymph node metastasis and ascites (all P<0.05).Fascin expression was positively correlated with Ezrin in ovarian epithelial tumor (r=0.248, P<0.05).Conclusion The Fascin and Ezrin positive expression in the ovarian epi-thelial carcinoma tissues is increased, which may be associated with the infiltration and metastasis of ovarian epithelial car-cinoma.
