Abstract:Objective To observe the changes and significance of neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin ( NGAL) and kidney injury molecule-1(KIM-1) in early development of acute kidney injury (AKI).Methods We chose 60 cases of patients with AKI.The levels of serum creatinine ( Scr) , blood urea nitrogen ( BUN) , blood NGAL ( pNGAL) , urine NGAL (uNGAL) and urine KIM-1 (uKIM-1) on the day of testing confirmed, 1, 3, 5, 7 d after confirmation were detec-ted, and the correlations among the five items were analyzed. Results The levels of pNGAL, uNGAL and Scr were signif-icantly decreased on the first day after confirmation (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and the levels of uKIM-1 and BUN were sig-nificantly decreased on the third day after confirmation (P<0.05 or P<0.01).Correlation analysis showed that the levels of pNGAL, uNGAL, uKIM-1 and BUN were positively correlated Scr level on the day of testing confirmed, 1, 3, 5, 7 d af-ter confirmation of AKI ( all P<0.05) .Conclusion During the early dynamic development of AKI, the levels of pNGAL and uNGAL can timely and accurately reflect the changes of renal function, and the time of uKIM-1 in reflecting the renal function is longer.
