Expression changes and significance of E-selectin in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Abstract：Objective To investigate the expression changes and significance of E-selectin in patients with nasopha-ryngeal carcinoma ( NPC) .Methods Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of E-selectin in NPC tissues.The relationships between E-selectin and the clinical pathological features were analyzed .Results Signifi-cant difference in the positive expression rate of E-selectin was found between no-metastases and metastases , local lymph metastases N0-3, distant metastasis M0-1(P<0.05 or <0.01).And no statistical difference was found in the stageⅠ-Ⅳ, T1-4, gender(male and female), and age(>50 years old,≤50 years old)( all P>0.05).Conclusion The expression of E-selectin increased in NPC patients , and its high expression promoted the metastasis in NPC .
