Mutation of RET exon 16 in the papillary thyroid cancer and clinical significance

Abstract：Objective To investigate the mutation of RET exon 16 in papillary thyroid cancer and to discuss its clinical significances .Methods DNA sequencing was performed to detect the mutation in 60 papillary thyroid cancer ( observation group) and twenty normal control group .The mutation were respectively observed in clinical and pathological features of pa -pillary thyroid cancer group .Results In the observation group , 11 cases were found RET exon 16 point mutation that was 918 bases existing C replacement T , no mutation of RET exon 16 was found in control group , P<0.05.The mutation of RET exon 16 was not related to clinical and pathological features in observation group (all P>0.05).Conclusion The mutation of RET exon 16 in papillary thyroid cancer patients increased , which was involved in carcinogenesis .
