Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and significance of p 73 and p15 protein in oral squamous cell car-cinoma.Methods Used immunohistochemical SP method to detect p 73, p15 protein from 20 cases of normal oral mucosa parts (control group), 35 cases parts of lichen planus (OLP group), 50 cases of squamous cell parts (SCC group), and we analyzed the relationship of two indicators of SCC group .Results The control group, OLP group, and SCC group′s p73 posi-tive expression rates were respectively 82.00%, 54.29%and 15.00%.The three groups′p15 positive expression rates re-spectively were respectively 42.00%, 100.00%and 100.00%, and after pairwise comparisons , all P<0.05.Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲgrade squamous positive rates of p73 in SCC group were 70.83%, 90.00%and 100.00%, and p15-positive rates were 54.17%, 35.00%and 16.67%, and after pairwise comparisons , all P<0.05.p73 and p15 protein expression were negatively correla-ted(r=-0.932, P<0.05) in SCC group. Conclusion In oral squamous cell carcinoma , p73 protein expression value in-crease, and p15 protein expression value reduce .They play the role of mutual antagonism in the development of oral squa-mous cell carcinoma .
