Clinical distribution and efflux pump genotype of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

Abstract：Objective To investigate the distribution of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii in different clini-cal department and to indicate the efflux pump genotype of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii .Methods A total of 96 separated multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii specimens , which were collected from different clinic depart-ments, were involved to analyse their clinic distributions .The efflux pump genetype of Acinetobacter baumannii was identi-fied by method of PCR .Results It was found that 52 Acinetobacter baumannii specimens from ICU , 18 from respiratory medicine department , 9 from burns surgery department , 6 from oncology department , 4 from general surgery department , 2 from nephrology department , 2 from cardiology department , 2 from pediatrics department , 2 from psychiatry department . The case of adeB, adeR, adeS, adeJ, adeE, adeM efflux pump genetype in all 96 multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter bau-mannii specimens was 33, 32, 33, 33, 0 and 33, respectively.The case of adeB, adeR, adeS, adeJ, adeE, adeM efflux pump genetype in 52 specimens derived from ICU was 18, 16, 18, 18, 0 and 18, respectively.The case of adeB, adeR, adeS, adeJ, adeE, adeM efflux pump genetype in 18 specimens derived from respiratory medicine department was 9, 8, 8, 8, 0 and 8, respectively.Conclusions Multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii is mainly distributed in ICU and re-spiratory medicine department .The major genetype of Acinetobacter baumannii are adeB , adeR, adeS, adeJ and adeM, which are the main reasons contribute to the multidrug-resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii .
