Abstract：Objective To analyze the application of provincial unified payment system in the centralized purchase of Shandong province essential drugs.Methods We analyzed the materials acquired from related data of provincial unified payment system in the centralized purchase of Shandong province essential drugs from June to October, 2011.The state of Shandong province essential drugs bid and supply security were analyzed by statistical methods.Results The essential drug provincial unified payment achieved remarkable results in the availability, affordability, quality assurance and guaran-tee supply.Conclusion The centralized purchase of Shandong province essential drugs based on the provincial unified payment system is helpful in the improving of motivation in the drug production and distribution companies′enthusiasm, which can promote the implementation of essential drugs system in Shandong province.
