Effect and mechanism of all-trans rectinoic acid on promoting astrocytes to clear Aβ
Abstract：Objective To investgate the effect of ATRA on promoting astrocytes to clear Aβand its mechanism . Methods Aβ42 was used to induce the apoptosis of primary astrocytes .cell survival rates were detected by MTT method . Aβwas detected by ELISA Kit ,APOE and BACE1 were determined by Western blot .Results The effects of the different concentrations of ATRA protecting against the apoptosis of astrocytes Aβ42-induced were different .And 0.1, 1 μmol/L ATRA could inhibit the apoptosis of astrocytes induced by Aβ42(P<0.05).Aβinculture medium or cells all decreased (all P<0.01).APOE was upregulated in experimental group (P<0.01), but BACE1 expression had no significant change.Conclusions ATRA can up-regulate the expression of APOE ,promote the astrocytes to clear Aβ.Low concentra-tions of ATRA have a protective effect on astrocytes .
