Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between 5-hydroxytryptamine 6 receptor (5-HT6R) C267T gene polymorphism and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease ( AD) .Methods We drew up the search strategies , and collected the related literatures on the relationship between gene polymorphism of 5-HT6R C267T and the pathogenesis of AD .Meta analysis was performed with RevMan5.2 software.Hierarchical analysis on the selected Chinese literature which had apoli-poprotein E (ApoE) gene ε4 was conducted, and the publication bias was analyzed by funnel plot .Results Eight inde-pendent case-control studies had been put into this meta-analysis with a total number of 1 969 subjects , comprised of 1 109 patients and 860 controls .There were no associations between 5-HT6 receptor gene polymorphism and pathogenesis of AD in the selected subjects (all P>0.05);in Chinese AD patients′5-HT6 receptor gene C267T without ApoEε4, the C/C, C/T genotypes had relationship with pathogenesis of AD (OR=0.69, 1.63, 95%CI:0.49-0.99, 1.14-2.33; all P<0.05).Conclusion 5-HT6 receptor C267T gene polymorphism is not associated with the pathogenesis of AD , but the C/C and C/T genotypes have relationships with the pathogenesis of AD in Chinese patients without ApoE ε4.
