Abstract:Objective To evaluate the relationship between TNF-αgenetic promoter 238G/A polymorphism and sus-ceptibility to hepatitis B by meta-analysis.Methods By searching EMBASE, PubMed, Ovid, Highwire press, CNKI, CBM and WANFANG et al, we collected studies about TNF-αgenetic promoter 238G/A polymorphism and HBV infection susceptibility. The odds ratios (OR) of variant allele of TNF-αgenetic promoter 238G/A and publication bias were calcu-lated by using Stata11.0 software. After screening and quality evaluation , data extraction was conducted in the literature which met the standard and then the literature was given meta-analysis .Results A total of 2 472 cases and 1 454 controls were included in 7 studies. The genotype frequencies of GG , AA and GA in the case group were 90.8%, 0.5% and 8.7%, while 93.1%, 0.3%, and 6.6%in the control group, all P>0.05.There was no significant difference between the AA and GG group;for the dominant genetic model , there was no significant difference between the AA +GA and GG group, for the recessive genetic model , there was no significant difference between the AA and GG +GA group, all P>0.05.Conclusion There was no close relationship between TNF-αgenetic promoter 238G/A polymorphism and HBV in-fection susceptibility .
