Effects of B418 on Stress Resistance,Yield and Quality of Continuous Cropping Small Rape(Brassica chinensis L.)

Abstract：To explore the reasons for the alleviation of Burkholderia vietnamiensis B418 on growth restric-tion of small rape(Brassica chinensis L.)in continuous cropping soil,the small rape variety of'Heiye Wuyueman Qingcai'was used as test variety in the present experiment.The effects of applying B418 in contin-uous cropping obstacle soil Ⅰ(pH 4.3,EC 1 361 μS·cm-1)and soil Ⅱ(pH 4.7,EC 2 000 μS·cm-1)on small rape emergence,survival,stress resistance,yield,quality and planting soil fertility were studied by pot method.The results showed that applying B418 improved the emergence rate,survival rate,yield and quality of small rape in both soil Ⅰand soil Ⅱ.In soil Ⅰ,the emergence rate,survival rate and yield increased by 15.63%,22.73%and 21.48%,respectively,and the contents of chlorophyll and vitamin C were significantly increased.In soilⅡ,the seedling emergence rate was 100%,the yield increased by 67.77%,the nitrate con-tent was significantly decreased,and the contents of carotenoid,vitamin C and soluble sugar were significantly increased.The stress resistance of small rape could be improved by B418 which performed differently in differ-ent continuous cropping soils.In soil Ⅰ,B418 mainly induced an increase of peroxidase(POD)activity in leaves and reduced the accumulation of H2 O2,avoiding intracellular macromolecular oxidative damage.In soilⅡ,B418 mainly induced an increase of superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity in small rape leaves,and re-duced the toxicity of·OH.Applying B418 could enhance the fertility of continuous cropping soil of small rape.In terms of soil nutrients,the contents of total nitrogen,organic matter,organic carbon,alkali-hydrolyzed ni-trogen and available phosphorus in soil I treated with B418 increased by 20.59%,7.69%,8.00%,14.04%and 8.26%,respectively,compared with its control.The contents of organic matter and organic carbon in soilⅡtreated with B418 increased by 18.11%and 17.57%,respectively,compared with its control.In terms of soil enzyme activity,the activities of urease and acid phosphatase in soil Ⅰ treated with B418 were 34.99%and 3.06%higher than those of its control,respectively,and the activity of cellulase in soil Ⅱ treated with B418 were 8.09%higher than those of its control.In summary,applying B418 in the soil with continuous cropping obstacles could alleviate the restriction effect on growth of small rape by increasing the emergence rate,survival rate,stress resistance and soil fertility of continuous cropping,thus improve the yield and quali-ty of small rape.
