Abstract:Infertile soil, due to insufficient nutrients and low water retention capacity, restricts plant growth and ecosystem health. Therefore,it is essential to seek effective strategies for soil amelioration. In this study, indoor pot experiment was conducted using tall fescue(Festuca arundinacea)as material, and using gravelly soil as the cultivation substrate.Four species of functional microbes,Bacillus subtilis,Bacillus amyloliquefaciens,Aspergillus niger, and Trichoderma harzianum, were selected and applied to the substrate to investigate the effects of different microbes-plant interactions on rhizosphere soil microbial diversity, structure, and physicochemical properties. The correlation analysis between rhizosphere soil physicochemical properties and soil enzyme activities was performed. The results showed that inoculation with exogenous functional mi-crobes altered the soil microbial community composition compared to the uninoculated control. After 120 days, the treatments with B.amyloliquefaciens and T.harzianum increased soil water content by 14.52%and 15.38%,respectively,compared with the initial soil;the macroaggregate rate rose to 83.38%and 85.22%,indicating improved soil structural stability. The T.harzianum treatment significantly increased to contents of soil organic matter, available potassium, and available phosphorus.Correlation analysis revealed significant re-lationships between soil physicochemical properties and soil enzyme activities. These results could provide the-oretical evidences for the remediation of infertile soils.
