Effects of Different Nitrogen Application Rates on Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency of Jiuliangyou Series Rice Varieties

Abstract：In order to investigate the effects of different nitrogen application rates on yield and nitrogen use ef-ficiency of Jiuliangyou series rice varieties,and to clarify the appropriate nitrogen application rate,this experi-ment was conducted using Wuyou 308 as the control variety(CK)to study the effects of different nitrogen ap-plication rates(0,120,150 kg/hm2,denoted as N0,N1,N2)on relative chlorophyll content,nitrogen ac-cumulation and absorption and utilization efficiency,dry matter production,yield and its components of Jiuliangyou series rice varieties(Jiuliangyou 1212,Jiuliangyou Huanghua Zhan,Jiuliangyou Huangli Zhan,Jiuliangyou Yuzhan,denoted as V1,V2,V3,V4).The results were as follows.(1)The SPAD value of rice leaves at different growth stages showed as heading stage＞booting stage＞tillering stage＞maturity stage.Af-ter booting stage,the SPAD value of N1 and N2 treatments were significantly higher than that of N0,while the difference between N1 and N2 was not significant.(2)Nitrogen application significantly increased the dry matter accumulation of rice at different growth stages with significant differences compared to N0,and N2 treatment had the highest.(3)The accumulation of organ nitrogen in different varieties at different growth sta-ges increased with the increase of nitrogen application rate.There were significant differences in the total nitro-gen accumulation during different growth stages of rice treated with different rates of nitrogen,but there were no significant differences in the nitrogen uptake ratio of panicles during booting and heading stages,and the nitrogen harvest index during maturity.(4)The nitrogen absorption and utilization efficiency,nitrogen physio-logical utilization efficiency,nitrogen agronomic utilization efficiency and nitrogen partial productivity of vari-ous varieties decreased with the increase of nitrogen application rate,and those of N1 treatment were the high-est.(5)Nitrogen application rate had significant impact on yield of the Jiuliangyou series rice varieties,with N1 and N2 treatments yielding significantly higher than N0,and no significant difference between N1 and N2 treatments.The seed setting rate showed an increasing trend with the increase of nitrogen application rate,while the thousand-grain weight showed a decreasing trend.There was no significant difference in the thou-sand-grain weight and seed setting rate among different nitrogen application rate treatments.The yield advan-tage of Jiuliangyou series rice varieties was mainly stems from its large effective panicle number and thousand-grain weight.From the above,it could be concluded that when the nitrogen application rate was 120 kg/hm2,the Jiuliangyou series rice varieties could not only achieve high yield,but also have suitable dry matter accu-mulation and high nitrogen absorption and utilization efficiency.
