Abstract:With the intensification of farmland and the adjustment of planting structure, the main pro-duction area of Capsicum annuum L.has developed from single continuous planting of the same crop to a diver-sified planting mode, forming an intercropping mode of C.annuum with other main crops.Starting from the ac-tual production, the experiment designed two intercropping modes of C.annuum-corn and C.annuum-sesame,and their impacts on growth and physiology, photosynthetic characteristics, disease occurrence and yield of C.annuum were studied. The results showed that intercropping with corn and sesame had a certain reducing effects on plant expansion, stem diameter, effective branch number, length, width and area of the maximum leaf,SPAD value, nitrogen content of C.annuum.Among them, intercropping with sesame had a certain re-ducing effects on other indicators except for stem diameter, leaf area and leaf width, did not affect the normal growth and development of the photosynthetic morphology of C.annuum, had relatively small impact on the dry and fresh yields of C.annuum with the dried yield only 2.31%lower compared to monoculture(CK),and it had better effects on the prevention and control of pepper blight, anthrax, and viral diseases. In summary,un-der the current planting mode, intercropping of C.annuum with sesame was more conducive to the growth and development of C.annuum resulting in higher yield,so it was considered as the preferred mode. This conclu-sion could provide certain technical references for improving the local planting ecology of C.annuum and a-chieving sustainable agricultural development.
