Abstract:This study aimed to understand the population diversity and species distribution characteristics of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)in the rhizosphere soil of Camellia oleifera at different altitudes in the karst regions, and enhance the foundational application of AMF in the ecological restoration of the regions. The rhizosphere soil of C.oleifera from high and low altitude areas of Guizhou karst region was collected as materi-al,and the high-throughput sequencing was performed using the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform to ana-lyze the species diversity and differences of AMF.The results showed that the genus Glomus dominated the AMF community in the karst region with 87.28%of total abundance. The unique OTU number, and Shannon and Chao1 indexes of AMF community from low altitude were significantly higher than those from high alti-tude,indicating higher richness in species diversity;additionally, the clustering distance of AMF species was farther between groups.Significantly positive correlations between organic matter ad available phosphorus con-tents and Glomus abundance were observed with correlation coefficients as 0.58 and 0.65,respectively.It indi-cated that low-phosphorus soil in karst regions promoted the growth of Glomus in the rhizosphere of Camellia oleifera, increased the soil carbon pool, and enhanced the phosphorus absorption and utilization by Camellia oleifera, but the mechanism underlying remained to be studied and verified further.
