Abstract:Tuta absoluta(Meyrick)(Lepidoptera:Gelechiidae)is an important invasive pest on the So-lanaceae plant, which was firstly reported in Peru,South Americain 1917,and has spread to China since 2017.It poses a great threat to the world's Solanaceae crop production, and can lead to drastic tomato yield losses by 80%to 100%in severe cases. In this study, the biological and ecological characteristics,geograph-ical distribution characteristics and suitable habitat, main hazard characteristics and host adaptability, and be-havioral regulation techniques of T.absoluta were reviewed aiming to provide guidance for its effective preven-tion and control.
