Abstract:The lands with different soil water and salt contents and vegetation growth but similar other soil properties were selected for the experiment. Four treatments were set including CK, adding 20 L of water, adding 20 L of 5 g /L NaCl solution and adding 20 L of 20 g /L NaCl solution. Based on GPR, the coastal saline soil salinity was detected to study the response characteristics of GPR to water-salt movement. The soil dielectric constant and amplitude were measured with the 250 MHz pulse EKKO PRO GPR in different soil layers of different lands under different treatments. The results showed that the dielectric constant was increased and the amplitude was weaken layer by layer with the increase of water and salt. In the 1 m depth of soil, the dielectric constant and amplitude information measured by GPR could reflect the changes of soil salinity to a certain extend.
