Abstract:Trichogramma ostriniae is widely used for biological control of corn borer.Sitotroga cerealella Olivier eggs are the important factitious hosts for industrialized production of Trichogramma ostriniae.Storing Sitotroga cerealella eggs at low temperature was the critical process in the mass production of T.ostriniae.In this study, the effect of low-temperature storage(at 4℃)of the killed or lived Sitotroga cerealella eggs on the quality of T.ostriniae offspring were evaluated with the parasitization and eclosion rate. The results showed that better effects could be obtained with the lived eggs stored at 4℃within 10 days.
