Abstract:Forest fire is a crucial disturbance factor in forest ecosystems. In this study, the impacts of fire intensity on nutrients in topsoil(0~10 cm)were studied from burned blanks in the Likou Mountain in Weihai City. The results were showed as follows. In contrast with the forest soil without fire, the soil pH value increased after forest fire, and the sequence from high to low was:heavily burned forest, slightly burned for-est, moderately burned forest.Soil organic matter and available potassium content were significantly de-creased,and the sequence of decrease range from high to low was:heavily burned forest, slightly burned for-est,moderately burned forest.Available nitrogen content was significantly reduced, and the sequence of de-crease range from high to low was: slightly burned forest, heavily burned forest, moderately burned forest. The content of available phosphorus was significantly increased, and the sequence of increase range from high to low was:heavily burned forest, moderately burned forest, slightly burned forest. The soil nutrient content decreased and pH value increased after heavy fire, which was not conducive to the improvement of soil chemi-cal properties.
