Abstract:The removal efficiency of nitrogen as well as the removal mechanism in integrated constructed wetlands with Canna indica were studied in this experiment under low, middle and high influent concentra-tions.The results showed that the wetlands could run well and effectively remove nitrogen and organic matter under high influent concentration with the TN of 240 mg/L and CODCrof 490 mg/L.There was higher removal efficiency of nitrogen in September than that in July. Both prolong hydraulic retention time(HRT)and influ-ent concentration could affect the nitrogen removal efficiency in integrated constructed wetlands.
