Abstract:In order to study the effects of phosphorus application amount on yield and its components, dry matter accumulation and distribution, leaf area index, leaf SPAD value, and leaf net photosynthetic rate,2 summer maize varieties Zhengdan 958 (ZD958) and Denghai 618 (DH618) were used as experimental materials.Four phosphorus (P2O5) levels as 0 (P0),45 (P3),90 (P6),135 (P9) kg/hm2 were designed for this experiment. The results showed that phosphorus application was beneficial for increasing the summer maize yield. The yield increased with the increasing of phosphorus level in the range of 0 ~ 90 kg/hm2,but decreased when phosphorus level over 90 kg/hm2.The yields of ZD958 and DH618 with P6 treatment increased by 13% and 14% respectively compared with P0.In addition, the phosphorus application was conducive to the increase of leaf area index and SPAD value, and then improved the leaf photosynthetic property and increased the net photosynthetic rate,so the accumulation of photosynthetic dry matter increased significantly.Dry matter weight in mature period increased firstly and then decreased gradually with the increase of phosphorus application amounts, and that of ZD958 under P6 increased by 26% and 9% compared with P0 and P3,respectively,while that of DH618 increased by 12% and 9%.The improvement of photosynthetic characteristics and the increase of dry matter weight were conducive to the increase of summer maize yield.
