Effects of Salt Stress on Seedling Growth and Physiological Indexes of Different Watermelon Varieties

Abstract：With the irrigation method of NaC1 solution,the salt tolerance of 21 watermelon varieties were compared and researched in this experiment.The results indicated that the salt stress inhibited the seedlings' plant height,stem diameter and shoot dry weight at different degrees.Using comprehensive membership function method,we classified 21 watermelon varieties into three types,including the high-salt-tolerance varieties Fengshou 567,Xin 3,Zhongyuan Lüijufeng,Yunong 3 and Chaoyuezhe,the medium-salt-tolerance varieties Shannong 1,Gaokang 8,Xiangyanjipin,Chaotianzanmei,Liduhuangfei,Tezao Xinxing,Xiangfa 2,Xigua 4,Xigua 9,Zhongyuan Heijufeng and Shannong 2,and the salt-sensitive varieties Kangfeng 3,Chunji 2,Xianxingzhe,Shuangxingshijia and Chaochun Teda Jingxin.
