Identification of Pathogen Causing Wheat Root Rot Ⅱ

Abstract：A disease was observed on winter wheat in Shanxian of Shandong Province at the returning green stage in 2015.The infected wheat seedlings showed yellow leaves,dwarf plants and water-soaked capillary roots,and some seedlings died.The disease occurred in spots and patches.To identify the pathogen and control the disease effectively,the pathogenic bacterium was isolated from the infected wheat roots.Based on its morphology biological characteristics,pathogenicity and molecular biology identification,the pathogen was identified as Pythium aphanidermatum.
