Study on Pollen Grain Morpholoy of Three Peach Varieties and Their Bud Mutation Varieties (Strains)

Abstract：The pollen grain morphological structures of 3 peach varieties and their bud mutation varieties (strains) and Chaohong peach (CK) were observed and measured by HITACHIE-1010 type scanning electron microscope.Then the rule and effect of morphological characteristics in cultivar evolution and new cultivar identification were analyzed.The results showed that the pollen grains of all peach varieties (strains) were close flat globose,isopolar,actinomorphy,blunt-triangular polar view with 3 arc sides and elliptical equatorial view.All of the peach pollen grains belonged to the N3P4C5 type.The exine surface of pollen had a lengthways and compound striate pattern with some sporadic pores.The contrast results of morphological characteristics showed that there was difference in exine ornamentation morphology among all peach varieties (strains).The pollen grain size had irregular evolution,but the vallate all were narrower and more pyknotic,and the exine ornamentations all were evolved from simple to complex.This study could provide references for the identification of peach variety and its bud mutation strain.
