Regulation Effects of Seed Soaking with Gibberellin on Budding Property of Sweetpotato Storage Root

Abstract：The edible sweetpotato varieties Yanshu 25, Hongxiangjiao, Taizhong 6, Xinxiang were chosed as experimental materials to study the differences of storage root budding property between different sweet potato varieties and the regulation effects of seed soaking with gibberellin (GA) on budding property.The results showed that compared with Taizhong 6 and Xinxiang, Yanshu 25 and Hongxiangjiao had more root holes, thinner potato skins and more seedling collection number per kilogram of storage roots.The seed soaking with GA solution could significantly improve the storage root budding property and increase the seedling collection number.The advisable GA solution concentration to seed soaking for Yanshu 25 and Taizhong 6 was 20 and 10 mg/kg respectively.
