Abstract:Different shading treatments were designed to study the growth characteristics, photosynthetic rate, activities of SOD, POD and CAT in Isatis indigotica leaves in the forestunder conditions. The comprehensive analyses indicated that Isatis indigotica was suitable for full illumination during the early growth period.Moderate shading could increase the growth rate and reduce the damage to membrane system during the mid-growth period of Isatis indigotica.Under the shading treatment with the row spacing as 1.0 m × 1.5 m, whose canopy closure rate was 57.4%, the more suitable environmental conditions could be provided for the growth and development of Isatis indigotica.
