Abstract:Taking 4 flue-cured tobacco varieties,Yuyan 7,Yuyan 10,K326,Yunyan 87,as the tested materials, the field experiment was conducted to study the effects of nitrogen on the chemical quality and neutral aroma components in flue-cured tobacco leaves in Neixiang County of Henan Province in 2014.The results showed that with the increase of nitrogen application rate, the contents of nicotine, total nitrogen and protein increased, the contents of reducing sugar and total sugar and the ratios of sugar to nicotine and nitrogen to nicotine decreased, and the contents of phenylalanine aroma components increased in the four flue-cured tobacco varieties. The contents of brown reaction products gradually increased, and the contents of chlorophyll degradation product neophytaliene and carotenoids degradation products increased first and then decreased in flue-cured tobacco varieties except Yuyan 7.The content of cembranenoid degradation products had no obvious rule. Therefore, under the experiment conditions, the optimum nitrogen application rate of Yuyan 7 was 22.5 kg/hm2,and that of the other tobacco varieties was 37.5 kg/hm2.In the tobacco cultivation and management,we should take different nitrogen application rates according to variety to improve the quality of flue-cured tobacco in Nanyang tobacco areas.
