Preliminary Research on Mechanical Harvesting Corn Kernel in Eastern Henan Plain

Abstract：To make clear the effects of different biological traits on corn kernel quality by mechanical harvesting in Eastern Henan Plain,eight main maize hybrids planted in Shangqiu area were chosen to study the effects of grain moisture content,plant height,ear height,stem diameter and yield components on yield loss ratio and grain impurity rate.The results showed that there were highly significantly positive correlations of grain moisture content with yield loss ratio and grain impurity rate.The grain moisture content and stem diameter were the main factors which significantly affected the corn kemel mechanical harvesting.In the eight different maize hybrids,Qiaoyu 8 had the lowest grain moisture content,yield loss ratio and grain impurity rate,and those of Zhengdan 958,whose promotion area was the biggest,were in the middle level.This study would provide important references for selecting new maize hybrids which were more suitable for mechanical harvesting.
